Prompted by the Roman myth Leda and the swan, this series of (twenty) paintings are reimagined narratives that reference the present. Reframed and recontextualized, the storyline is further transformed through my painting process.

With emphasis on materials and the idea of process itself, elements of chance and alchemy give shape to details. Working on unprimed linen with water-based paint, details are shaped by the warp and woof of the surface material. Diluted pigment fades and blurs form, and irregular weave omits edges.
